Volunteer with CSC at City Harvest’s Prince Hall Mobile Market NY
April 26 @ 8:30 am - 12:00 pm EDT

City Harvest rescues perfectly good, nutritious food that would otherwise go to waste and makes it available for free to New Yorkers experiencing hunger. They provide over three million pounds of fresh produce, free of charge, every year to nearly 10,000 New York City households through outdoor farmers’ market-style distributions of fresh produce that called Mobile Markets®.
Volunteers will be stationed at market tables, each supplied with thousands of pounds of fresh produce that they will help distribute to eligible market-goers. Volunteers will help to stock stations with produce boxes and guide clients through the market. Additional tasks may include helping set up market tables and tents, sorting and repacking food items, breaking down produce boxes, line management, and putting market tables and tents away at the close of market. The ability to safely lift up to 30 lbs. is helpful during the market, but do not hesitate to inform your fellow volunteers if you are unable to assist with lifting boxes of food items for any reason. Note: All food is distributed free of charge.
